Auxiliary sister Carolyn Huerta, wife of VFW member Lupe Huerta passed away on December 22nd. Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 28th at 10:00 AM at the Prairie Haven Cemetery Chapel. Lunch will be served at the VFW after the service. Food will be provided by VFW and Auxiliary members so please bring a dish or dessert. Let me know what you plan to bring so we will know if we have enough food.

Also Auxiliary sister Bonnie Powers passed away on December 21st. Some of you
will probably remember her. I never met her and only know the Chapel of Hope is in charge of her service.

Louise Salas Passes Away

Louise Salas' father, Onosre Tafoya, who is also Jeanette Garcia's grandfather passed away last evening.
Louise Salas is Auxiliary Department Secretary. Her daughter Jeanette Garcia is Senior Vice President of Auxiliary Department. Jeanette's daughters are Danielle and Dominique Garcia. Danielle is a Department Color Bearer and Dominique is President of Post 401 Jr. Girls.

I have just been advised that our Auxiliary sister Carolyn Huerta is gravely ill and has been air lifted to Lubbock with pneumonia and other lung problems. She has literally worn herself to a frazzle caring for her husband, VFW Brother Lupe Huerta who is still not out of the woods. I was told that Carolyn is on a respirator and feeding tube. I will advise everyone when I get a later report. Please offer you prayers and support for both Lupe and Carolyn.

Would you put the information about the funeral service for Lizzie who is Maggie & David Smith's daughter on the website please? The service is Friday, November 15th, at 10:00 A.M.
Location is the Westbrook Baptist Church, 1420 Thornton, Clovis, NM which is next to Muffley's Funeral Home.
Lunch will be at Post 3280 for family and friends at noon.
Maggie Smith is our New Mexico Grand MOCA President as well as LAVFW 3280 Secretary.

Thursday, November 7th is the last meeting for the Veterans day parade and lunch. 5:30 PM
Saturday, November 9th is Veterans Day Parade. Floats, etc. to line up at Taylor and Dunham at 9:00 AM. Parade at 10:00 AM. Lunch to follow at VFW.
Thursday, November 14th we will do troop care packages at 4:30 PM
Thursday, November 14th is House Committee meeting at 5:30 PM
Thursday, November 21st is VFW and Auxiliary meeting at 6:30 PM
Thursday, November 28th is Thanksgiving Day
